If we talk about beaches in the world, surely mention hundreds of destinations all over the world, including Brazil, Caribbean, Australia, Polynesia or European countries, but almost surely no one could quote Belgium as an example of beaches. And clearly the attractiveness of Belgium is its beaches, but to the surprise of many, has a small portion of costs.
It’s hard to imagine her as beautiful and radiant beaches, but the Belgian coastal landscapes are associated with reliefs rough, gray and in small corners, we can find beaches with sun and space to bathe and cool off. One of the few places where you can enjoy Belgian beaches is in the city of Ostend. Then we can hire a car and move to the village of Nieupoort, where you will not find a place like Ibiza or Cancun but the first sunny beaches and the first tourists willing to enjoy the sun and the sea.
Then, near here, we can the village of Oostduinkerke, a site with more wild and rural landscapes but where we rent an apartment for a couple of days and enjoy the beaches. Leaving behind the people of Nieupoort and Oostduinkerke, we arrive at De Panne, one of the largest tourist destinations with extensive beaches and a particular region where we see a very broad region of routes, giant sand mountains and some vegetation. This site is known as the Park and Wildlife Refuge Westhoek.
This is very convenient to travel by car for the great expanses of the park and its various ways, but if you do not have transportation, we can take one of the trams that run through the Belgian coastal area from Knokke Heist to De Panne. Not paradise, but a way to meet one of the least known aspects of Belgium.
