Florida International University

Florida International University (FIU) has two campus- University Park in Miami-Dade county and Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami. The first campus, is located in the tropics with Golden Panthers Sports Arena the new library, natural reserve area and athletic facilities they do a very adequate. Campus Biscayne Bay covering 200 acres.  There is direct access to the bay, apartments, a library, conference hall (Roz Cal Kovens and Conference Centre).

Florida International University

The University offers more than 190 programs to its 34,000 students in 19 schools. It the largest University of South Florida and is ranked in the 30 largest U.S. Universities FIU is known for research and occupies a position privileged by Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a Doctoral / Research University-Extensive.

Miami, one of the most international cities in the hemisphere, is the largest urban center in southeastern U.S. With its subtropical climate, Miami is one of the favorite cities of the inhabitants of U.S. to spend their holidays during the winter. Miami International Airport is the third airport largest in the nation and the port Miami is the largest in the world cruises.  Today, Miami has a reputation being a metropolis to exchange ideas, meet people and travel.

Accommodation:

The campus is divided into two parts :  Biscayne Bay Campus and University Park Campus, with 5 homes in total. Bay Vista Housing is the only accommodation offered on campus Biscayne Bay in this time. All rooms are in apartments for one or two people, each furnished apartment has a bathroom, kitchen, Internet access, telephone and television. Contains room games room, laundry room and computers. Located 10 minutes from the beach and there is a relaxation area outside the building with a volley court.

University Park Apartments are separated by 10 buildings with 45-70 students in each. All buildings have laundry rooms, living rooms, computer labs, kitchens and patios. There rooms for 1 to 4 people in style apartments. Each room is furnished unlimited Internet access, telephone and television. In the outdoor area, there is a barbecue, volleyball and basketball court.

Panther Residence Hall: This building can accommodate 410 students at the University. Most are Freshmen. Each room is for two persons and is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, Internet access, telephone, television and bathroom. Each floor has an area recreational games room, lounge, laundry, computer room and kitchen.

Univeristy Park Towers: The faculty consists of 3 sections-North Tower, South Tower and West Wing. Everyone has a recreation area with games room and laundry. Each room is part of a suite (apartment style) contains 4 rooms with two bathrooms.  All suites have kitchens and living rooms and all rooms have Internet access, television and telephone.

Florida International University

Everglades Hall: Comprises the most recent campus and accommodates 400 students. Each room is located in a suite with 3 rooms a bathroom, kitchen, Internet access, TV and telephone. The building has several lounges, laundry room, computers and access to the pool.

All freshmen (Freshmen) have the opportunity to participate in the program First Year Residents Together Succeding (FYRST). This program helps Freshmen to integrate in the life of the University in a fun and support. It presents the opportunity to meet the people in your building and in its course and get into the activities offered by the university.

The University requires that students whose first language is not English, need make tests Español as a Test of Foreign Language (TOEFL) and achieve a score at least 500 to be considered. However, there are exceptions: If the student has made 4 years in a U.S. college or in a country Anglophone or if the candidate has taken a title an institution in the U.S. or country English speakers. In these circumstances need not make tests TOEFL.

The International Student and Scholars Services (ISSS) is an organization whose objective is to cultural care and organize many activities social and fun for the entire campus to meet the goal.

The University offers the English Language Institute (ELI) that helps students improve international and practice what was learned the classroom.
