What is Foundcity?
Foundcity is a personal mapping tool for creating customized maps. You can share these maps with friends, keep them private, or publish them openly for everyone to see. It's like having your own personal Google Maps to use any way you want.

How should I use it?
People use Foundcity for all sorts of purposes. Some examples:
These are, of course, just a few possible uses - Foundcity is for whatever you want to use it for.

How does it work?
Use Foundcity by creating 'finds,' or references to things in the city that you find significant. You add finds to your personal map either from your cell phone or from the website. Add an image, the street address, and a brief description of your find, upload it, and within seconds it displays on your map for others to see.

Where can I use Foundcity?
You can use Foundcity anywhere in the U.S., Canada or UK if you're adding Finds from the website. You can also create Finds from your cell phone if you're in:
  • Manhattan
  • Brooklyn
  • San Francisco
  • Chicago
  • Los Angeles
  • Portland
  • Boston
  • New Orleans

What do you mean by finds and tags?
A 'find' is anything you want to remember or share, like a favorite restaurant or a moment spent with friends. It can include a photograph, a description, and tags. A 'tag' is a keyword that describes what you've found. A tag can be any word or words that describe your find.

Can I keep some finds private?
Yes. When you edit a find, you can choose to keep it private, meaning only you can see it.  You can also choose to make all finds private by default.
